Now fan might be too small a word.
JW Speaker’s new 8970 Adaptive Matrix headlight unit dials it up a notch. I liked BMW K1600’s adaptive mirror-articulating headlight, but wished the halogen projector was LED... now no need.

Now I know what headlight I am putting on my future bike, and planning in all my custom builds that roll around my head.
Hopefully it will fit well in an interesting half fairing.
Actually, I really don’t like the fairing on the custom RNineT with the orange frame... but I like the rest of the bike, and would want one of these other half fairings, with the JW Speaker adaptive headlight installed. I think the Hondaline fairing with the airfoil screen, and the covered-headlight could look really cool on the RNineT, even if it is cross-brand sacriledge. I really wish the Moto Guzzi V12 Griso 8-valve bike came with a LeMans upgrade, with the V11 LeMans’ fairing on the newer bike. Any of them would be a great candidate for an adaptive LED headlight upgrade.

My knee jerk reaction was that they were ugly as sin, but the more I look at them the more I want one. It helps seeing them in action, I think.

The black one, mounted in a fairing with a bit of black trim, and otherwise painted in the bike’s bodywork color would minimize the emphasis.
An add-on halo ring might also draw the eye from the oddity of so many lenses in the assembly, if the halo is wired as a daytime running light, with a european 3-mode circuit, (DRL, low, and high, rather than US-market with full-time low beam as the DRL)
another option to distract or provide an alternate visual effect, (although I hesitate to use anything that might reduce light transmission) would be a film application.
Again, I would seriously hesitate to use anything other than clear... but with a black housing, even the lightest, mildest tint would look like a blackout, with minimal light output filtering... and the LEDs might be bright enough to power through the minimal tint, and still exceed an un-tinted halogen fixture.
And if all else fails... using the adaptive headlight for low beams, and adding some supplemental lighting... Like a ClearwaterLights Sevina (7500+ lumens, 7 emitters, pin spot focus) or Erica (6000+ lumens, 6 emitters), but they are auxiliary lights, not patterned with a low-beam cutoff for oncoming drivers.

I opened this up because I thought some monster put a speaker in a headlight.

Despite the name, no... JW Speaker doesn’t make audio equipment, the make lighting products, and quite good ones. It is a bit disconcerting at first, though.

I had been thinking of the lightbulb bluetooth speaker earlier and then this? Mind blown.
